This is a great idea to adopt a French bulldog instead of purchasing a puppy because this is a very true fact that the puppies grow up into adult dogs within few months. But if you can adopt a dog that needs a home badly, you will be doing a much humane job. These dogs are naturally short and sweet to look at. They become extremely loyal to the person who takes care of them.
They will make great companions for your kids. But they are considered to make better pets for the older kids than the small ones. But they are often prone to various type s of health problems which you need to take care. But before you adopt a French bulldog, make sure you are completely prepared to raise the dog and be compassionate to it.
Before you go ahead and adopt a French bulldog ask a few questions to yourself and if the answers are positive then you are probably ready for the adoptions. Calculate the number of hours when the dog will have to stay alone at home. This is important because these dogs are very loving and they prefer to stay near the inmates of the house.
They are not the species which you can leave alone at the backyards for long. If you all are out of the house for 8 or 9 hours a day then the adoption is not going to help the dog anyways. They also need to be taken for walk several times. Are you available to do this regularly?
If yes then the adopted dog will be really happy with you. Often you need to train your dog at home about small tasks like shitting at a proper place or obeying you. You should have ample patience and time for this.
If you are adopting a puppy then there are quite a few tasks that you will have to accomplish in order to get a trained grown up dog. But if you are lacking the patience then this is a better idea to adopt an adult and trained French bulldog. They will make an instant companion for you.
The crude realty is that every year a huge number if dogs are killed who were adoptable but nobody did that. You can take this as a social responsibility of yours and adopt the cute French dog who needs your love and care to survive in the world.
